I got to thinking about personal projects today. The planning, the finding of the time to do it, the rewarding feeling of accomplishing something solely to feed the creative heart and the inspiration it draws. I really want to make that happen this year, but I’m a realist. If you know me, I love to travel. It’s like, my favorite. So this year, I’m excited and grateful to be going some amazing places, along with all my 5-star local weddings. However, it takes a lot out of me and I can only hope to have a sliver of time for some personal endeavors. But I really wanted to get my hands dirty, so I dug into some old archives.
Rewind 3 years. This was personal and it was a project, with a film crew in tow, creating ‘their’ own personal piece. Amelia was a dream to photograph. She’s a dancer and a genius— quite literally, the woman is a chemical engineer. Back when we first shot, I played with a few of these and I was happy. They were tooootally different than what came out of my magic editing machine tonight. Tonight, I went dark. I went moody. And I like them.
